Replace Your Windshield With Confidence
Local service for everyday drivers and working vehicles
Auto Glass Direct & Tint helps Phoenix and Tempe drivers replace damaged windshields on cars, trucks, vans and SUVs, including domestic, import and luxury vehicles. Tell us your vehicle details so we can confirm the glass and service requirements before scheduling.
We work with customers using applicable insurance coverage and those paying directly. Our team can help coordinate claim information and explain the proposed replacement, including any calibration needed for a windshield-mounted camera.
Does your windshield need repair or replacement?
A rock chip does not always mean you need a new windshield. The right choice depends on the damage type, depth, location and condition, as well as the equipment built into the glass. A technician should assess the damage before recommending a repair or replacement.
When a repair may be an option
A small, isolated chip in suitable condition may qualify for windshield chip repair. Address it promptly so the damage can be evaluated before it spreads or collects more dirt. Repair can improve the damaged area, but a mark may remain visible.
When replacement may be needed
A spreading crack, damage through multiple glass layers, or damage affecting the driver’s view or a camera’s viewing area can make replacement the appropriate choice. Size alone is not a reliable test, and a photo cannot establish every aspect of repairability.
When you contact AGD, describe where the damage sits and whether it has changed. Have your vehicle year, make and model ready. If the glass obstructs your view, arrange an assessment before driving.

What affects windshield replacement cost?
There is no single replacement price that fits every vehicle. A useful quote identifies the correct windshield, the work required and your payment options before the appointment.
- Vehicle and glass: the year, make, model and VIN help identify the correct part.
- Built-in features: camera brackets, a head-up display, rain sensors, acoustic glass or heating elements can affect the glass specification.
- Additional work: required calibration, moldings or other installation components can affect the total.
- Payment method: your insurance coverage and deductible determine your share of an approved claim. Self-pay service is also available.
Ask for the total quote and what it includes, including any required calibration, before comparing options.
Using insurance or paying directly
AGD can help coordinate an auto glass claim. Your insurer and policy determine whether the damage is covered, which deductible applies and what is authorized.
Arizona insurers offering private-passenger comprehensive coverage must offer an option for safety-equipment coverage without a deductible. That option is not automatically included in every policy. Check your coverage before assuming the replacement will have no out-of-pocket cost. Read Arizona’s glass-coverage provision.
If you do not have applicable glass coverage, request a self-pay quote. Our windshield insurance guide explains the information to have ready.
The right glass for your vehicle and its safety systems
Two windshields for the same vehicle model can have different features. Tell us if your vehicle has lane assistance, forward-collision alerts, automatic wipers, heated glass or a head-up display. Your VIN helps narrow down the correct glass and equipment.
OEM and replacement-glass options
AGD offers OEM or equivalent glass options. The selection must suit your vehicle’s features and any applicable manufacturer requirements. Ask which glass is included in your quote and whether your insurer has approved the proposed option; availability and coverage can vary.
Factory acoustic or solar-control glass and aftermarket window film are different products. Mention existing film or a windshield-mounted accessory before replacement so the appointment can be planned accurately.
When ADAS calibration is required
Advanced driver assistance systems, or ADAS, may use a forward-facing camera mounted near the windshield. Replacing that glass can require camera calibration under the vehicle manufacturer’s procedure. Not every vehicle has the same requirement.
Some procedures use targets with the vehicle stationary, some use a specified road drive, and some require both. The vehicle and working conditions determine whether the work can be completed at a mobile appointment or needs a different setting.
Ask AGD to confirm your windshield calibration requirements when scheduling. Include calibration time in your plans, and ask for the completion information at handover.

Mobile windshield replacement in Phoenix and Tempe
AGD offers mobile auto glass replacement so you can arrange service at an appropriate home or workplace location. For service in Phoenix or Tempe, start with your exact address and ZIP code so we can confirm coverage and the appointment. Tell us whether the vehicle will be at a home, workplace, apartment or campus parking area. Home and workplace appointments may require different scheduling and access arrangements.
For campus, apartment and office parking, confirm that on-site vehicle work is permitted. Tell us about gates, garage clearance, reserved spaces or other access restrictions. A technician needs a suitable place to work and enough time for the vehicle to remain parked.
Weather, workspace conditions and calibration requirements can affect the service location. We will confirm the plan with you before the appointment.
Have these details ready
- Vehicle year, make, model and VIN if available.
- A description of the damage and any camera, sensor or display features.
- Your preferred address, ZIP code and available appointment times.
- Insurance details if you plan to make a glass claim.
Prefer a location visit?
AGD lists its Southern and Mill service location at 3414 S Mill Ave, Tempe, AZ 85282. Call (480) 289-5108 before visiting to confirm the appointment, address and service offered. Mobile dispatch and select partner locations serve different appointment needs.
When can you drive after windshield replacement?
Installation time and safe drive-away time are different. After installation, the adhesive needs time to develop the required bond. Keep the vehicle parked until the technician’s stated minimum drive-away time has elapsed. The adhesive system and installation conditions determine that timing.
Your total appointment may also include required calibration. Tell us if you have a fixed departure time, and get the technician’s release instructions before planning your next trip.
The Auto Glass Safety Council explains minimum drive-away time and why the installation’s instructions matter.
Care for your new windshield
- Follow the specific instructions for driving, washing and any temporary retention tape.
- Ask when you may use a car wash; the answer depends on the installation and materials.
- Keep the camera’s viewing area clear of film, stickers and accessories.
- Contact AGD if you notice a leak, unusual wind noise, loose molding or a new driver-assistance warning.
AGD’s limited windshield replacement warranty explains qualifying workmanship and material coverage, exclusions and how to report a concern. New road damage is not the same as an installation defect.
Keep your invoice and any calibration documentation. For a leak, wind noise, loose molding or a driver-assistance warning after service, call (480) 289-5108 with your vehicle details and service date so AGD can arrange follow-up.

Windshield Replacement FAQs
Can you replace my windshield at home or work in Phoenix or Tempe?
Yes, AGD offers mobile windshield replacement in Phoenix and Tempe. Provide the address and vehicle details so we can confirm availability, access and a suitable workspace. Weather or vehicle-specific calibration requirements may change where the appointment is completed.
Can a cracked windshield be repaired instead?
Some damage can be repaired, but a crack or chip must be assessed for its location, depth and condition. Damage in a critical viewing area or involving multiple glass layers may need replacement. Ask for an assessment before choosing a service.
Is windshield replacement free with Arizona insurance?
Only applicable coverage can make an approved replacement eligible for no deductible. Arizona requires insurers offering comprehensive coverage to offer a no-deductible safety-equipment option; it does not give every driver free windshield replacement. Confirm your policy and claim authorization.
Can I get a quote without insurance?
Yes. Request a self-pay quote with your vehicle year, make, model and VIN if available. Mention camera systems, a head-up display and other windshield features so the quote can account for the correct glass and any required calibration.
Does my car need ADAS calibration after replacement?
That depends on the vehicle and its manufacturer requirements. Windshield-mounted camera systems may require calibration after glass replacement. AGD can confirm the procedure and appropriate service setting using your vehicle details.
How long will my windshield replacement appointment take?
The time depends on the vehicle, installation, required calibration and adhesive minimum drive-away time. Ask for an appointment estimate when booking, then follow the technician’s release time before moving the vehicle.
Can I schedule same-day windshield replacement?
Ask about current availability. Same-day scheduling depends on the correct glass being available, the technician schedule, the service location and any calibration requirements. Confirm your appointment before making travel plans.
What does the replacement warranty cover?
AGD provides a limited warranty for qualifying defects in materials and workmanship for as long as you own the vehicle. It has exclusions and reporting requirements, including notice within 30 days of discovering a defect and proof of installation. Read the full warranty terms.
