With more drivers on the highway, it’s important to pay attention and ultimately reach your destination safely. Make sure to wear your seatbelt, pay attention to speed limits and follow the holiday rules of the road. Always get enough sleep prior to embarking on a long journey and make sure you stay alert while driving.
Remember that Drinking and Driving is against the law, so If you plan on drinking any alcohol, make sure to get a designated driver.

1. Pay complete attention to the road, especially during heavy traffic. It will help if you do not utilize your cell phone as this is one of the most major distractions and causes of automobile accidents.
2. If you run into construction projects underway, remember to use caution in work zones.
3. Never Follow another vehicle too closely as they may need to come to a sudden stop.
4. Take Breaks. Stop often enough to stretch out and get your energy back.
5. If your vehicles windows or lights are dirty, make sure to clean them. This will allow you to see better, especially in the dark.

7. Do Not overdrive your headlights.
8. Do Not allow your car’s gas tank go below 1/4 just incase there is a long period or stretch of road with no rest stops.
If you have car trouble, pull off the highway and on to the shoulder as far as you possibly can.
9. Carry necessary tools or parts in your truck such as jumper cables, spare tire, or even an air pump.
10. Tell people about your plans and your destination, along with what time you expect to get home, just in case your car gets stuck or has trouble along the way.
