No matter where you live, it gets hot in the summer and you will feel it when you get in your car. Regardless of your climate, when the sun’s rays hit your car and the ambient temperature is already elevated, your car acts like an oven and traps that hot air in which you are quick to feel the moment you enter your car. While there is not much you can do about the engineering of your car or the fact that summer comes around every year, you can tint your car’s windows to combat the heat of summer.
There are two factors that make your car uncomfortable in the summer. When you are sitting in it and the sun is just beating down on you without restriction, you will feel hot. And, as mentioned, when the sun heats the interior of the car and the heat has nowhere to go it will just keep warming up inside your car. Automotive window tint addresses both those issues, “Every state sets its own limits on the legal amount of car window tint allowed for passenger vehicles. The windshield and front passenger windows are the most restrictive areas, but all windows can be tinted up to a degree. By making the windows partially reflective, a percentage of the sun’s ultraviolet rays are blocked from entering the cabin of the vehicle. Not only does this darken the car from the outside, it also reduces the total sunlight exposure that transforms into heat. Once inside the car’s cabin, sunlight quickly becomes heat. Black or leather interior can exacerbate this effect. Car window tint may not block all sunlight from entering, but it will reduce the amount of sunlight that can become heat, keeping the cabin cooler in the process.”
Additionally, window tint helps filter out harmful UV rays which will protect your skin from damage when you are in your car. As you can see, window tint has a myriad of benefits including skin protection, comfort, and heat control in your car during the hot summer months.
